Aroma Cafe in Silverlake AND Hollywood

Last Saturday, Mike‘s friend came in from SF with her Boyfriend and Mike had a little college reunion.  His friend sent out an Address for Aroma Cafe and Mike and I were the first to arrive.  Aroma in Silverlake is an amazing little Italian restaurant tucked away in a small strip mall off Sunset.  When we got there, they brought out fresh made Bruchetta, which was AMAZING, and then we patiently waited for our friends to arrive.

uh…but then 30 minutes later, Mike’s friend calls and tells us she sent out the wrong address and that we all were waiting at the wrong one on Sunset… @#()@!@.  Mike and I apologize profusely for taking up their table and ask if we can pay for the free appetizer.  They were SOOO nice about the entire mix up and the three of us leave and meet our friends at the OTHER Aroma cafe on Sunset.

CONFUUUSING…people need to watch out for duplicate restaurants on the same street!

The free, amazing bruchetta.

At the CORRECT Aroma, we ordered appetizer platters (it was so good I forgot to take a picture)!  We had Israeli Hummus, Eggplant Rolls, Mushroom Cap, Avocado Roll, veggie plate for the Hummus and Pita Bread.  IT WAS DELICIOUS.  There were tons of different sauces too, but I stuck to one white one~ it was like a garlic aoili.

For our main dinner~ we ordered Coca-Cola Chicken

I liked the chicken, but Mike hated it.  There were sweet potatoes smothered in BBQ sauce which was WEIRD.  The salad was good~ but for Mike…he only ate a little chicken and didn’t touch anything else.  >.<

 & a Veggie Cobb Salad

Love this salad and the dressing, ESPECIALLY the beets & asparagus.  My only addition would have been salami.  =P

There seemed to be a lot of good things on the menu, but I’m not 100% sure if I’d go back…

Just based on the two main courses Mike and I ordered~ it was good but not MIND BLOWING.  Also, the service was a liiiiittle lacking…so that was another thing I was turned off about.

Aroma in Silverlake was a really cute and romantic restaurant that Mike and I totally plan on going back to.  Aroma in Hollywood was cute and probably an easy date place…but not a place to go back to.
