Thirsty Thursdays: Marques de Caceres–Rueda

image

I’ve never had this wine before or ever heard of Rued Verdejo.  I picked it up from Trader Joe’s and I think it was around $6?  But the going rate at any grocery store might be closer to $8-$12.

This is a spanish wine that is surprisingly light and crisp.  With my first two sips, there was an initial taste of green apple and some citrus notes.  This wine would go really well with lighter items like salad, fish, pasta, even chicken.

For me personally, I’m not sure if I love this enough to buy it again.  It was nice to drink something this light and I might crave it on a hot day…but for now…I think I’ll pass.  I prefer something a little heavier like Chardonnay.

If you’re into pinot grigio or savignon blancs, I’d definitely recommend this!  You may love it.
