a few weekends ago i went to down to san diego to visit mike’s grandpa. for dinner the family went to il fornaio in del mar and it was phenomenal. from the service to the view to the food to the cocktails…holy cow. i can’t wait to go back.
we were lucky enough to sit outside where we were able to see the ocean from our table. the outside patio had been recently rennovated and it was GORGEOUS.
Pim’s Cup. totally delicious. always reminds of spiked sprite with a tart twist.
linguine mare chiaro
Thin flat pasta with clams, mussels, prawns and scallops; seasoned with tomatoes, crushed red pepper, garlic and Trebbiano wine
–absolutely delicious. i INHALED this baby. the al dente pasta, fresh seafood and mouthwatering sauce were to die for. i even started dipping the bread on the table into my sauce. it was THAT good. just writing about this makes me salivate. *sigh * the life of a fattie…
if you’re in the del mar area and looking for a nice restaurant to eat (or even take a date), i totally recommend il fornaio. there are dozens of locations and i’ve never been disappointed at any of them!
