Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays of the year.  I feel like it kicks off 6 weeks of fun, family and FOOOOOOD.  Here are some heavenly recipes that I’ve been drooling over from!

Cuvee on Robertson

i have been on the hunt for a shrimp taco salad since my second trimester.  SUCH an incredibly weird craving but i blame el pollo loco commercials.  lol

anyway…i never found the taco salad i had been craving UNTIL i went to brunch at Cuvee off Robertson.  Cuvee is the cutest restaurant/wine bar.  there were a ton of items on the brunch menu that i wanted to order but once i saw the shrimp taco salad my heart literally did a little dance.

hands down this was the best taco salad i’ve ever had.  the shrimp is large, fresh and perfectly seasoned.  the salad itself is generously portioned and has a ton of great textures and flavors.

best part of the meal?  we got free cookies!  (hint: check in on yelp)  and those cookies were BOMB.  mike and i were fighting over the crumbs at the end.  lol

i can’t wait to go back to Cuvee for their taco salad + other brunch items. =)  xoxo

(turkey panini below was yummy too!)

Madang Gooksoo on Western Ave

2015-07-16 10.28.20

i pass by this place all the time and was really stoaked to get the chance to try it!  party of one please~~ =)

Madang Gooksoo is famous for it’s noodle soups.  So of course I had to get…a noodle soup! doiii

I ordered the original Chicken noodle soup and it was BOMB DOT COM.  do people say that anymore?  lol  the noodles were handmade, the broth was on fleek and there were generous chunks of moist chicken.  AND for you spicy food lovers out there, there was a spicy sauce to add to the broth if you wanted to turn up the flavor profile a notch (or five in my case).

I went in the morning at about 1030am and the only few people eating in the restaurant were the regulars.  The waitresses knew them by name and gave them their usual orders.  I have to say that service I got wasn’t awesome.  I had to keep flagging them down and asking for water, etc.  BUT, and a huge B-U-T, this isn’t unusual service for ktown.  *shrug *  I guess when you know you have good food you don’t need to sweeten it with great service?  lol

in any case i would totally recommend this small treasure of a place.  i’d like to go back and try a few different kinds of noodle soups, but if you’re a newbie like i was~ the chicken one is really tastey!
