Back in June (whoa time flies fast), I had my 31st birthday brunch at Salt Air on Abbott Kinney with my girlfriends. The day was nice and hot, the food at Salt Air was perfection, and afterwards we got to shop around and take in the lazy saturday afternoon. ❤
if you haven’t been to salt air, PLEASE check this place out. the service is incredibly friendly, the food is SUPERB, the drink menu is salivating and you always have a great time. abbott kinney is my favorite place to hang out these days and big brunches like this is exactly why!
favorite items at Salt Air: lobster roll, blueberry pancakes, roasted chicken, and oysters!
perfect little dessert to end the best brunch with my Bs. =)
This is by far one of my fave brunch spots in LA. The food, coffee and desserts are always solid; free street parking; and there is a ton of stuff to do afterwards on this street; it’s super baby and dog friendly…what more could you ask for?
i love all their breakfast items, their specialty coffees, salads and sandwiches. i would kiiinda avoid some of the desserts (you can see what you like and don’t like in the case) and the red velvet pancakes. i dunno…the red velvet is good but not SOOO amazing you have to drive all the way to larchmont for it. ya know?
for my friends surprise engagement brunch (after the proposal) we met at Link in Beverly Hills. this was the perfect location to have an surprise brunch with bottomless cocktails, chill vibes and really friendly staff. felt like a “bro” staff that was super nice and gave us a ton of space to celebrate the engagement. really sweet of them to do that.
hot mess fries~~ love the name and the dish.
san diego burrito–really good~ loved the salsa verde sauce it came with too.
Golden Gate Sandwich–good not AMAZING. the toasted sourdough bread was really tasty tho.
i would be interested in going back and trying their normal lunch/dinner menu. not totally impressed with their brunch selections but i loved the bottomless mimosas, sangria and mojitos. =) next time when baby blair is born i will be indulging in MANY more of those brunches. =D
Here are some pics of the surprise engagement below. ❤ such a fun morning to spend with friends, celebrating a momentous occasion for the sweetest and cutest couple ever!
Went to brunch at Monkey Business cafe in Fullerton this past Saturday and LOVED it. Not only was the service fantastic, the food was good (not 5 stars but solid) AND the cafe is partially non-profit (helping at-risk youths). I would totally go back there and try out the rest of their extensive menu.
we ordered the veggie omelette, the berry waffles and acai bowl. YUMMY.
Really sweet staff and rustic atmosphere. If yo’re in the area check it out!
Salt Air has been one of my new favorite restaurant finds in Venice. Located on Abbot Kinney, it’s near a lot of really great stores, bars and restaurants. The first time I went for dinner and it seriously BLEW my mind. Their Brined and Slow Roasted 1/2 Chicken anson mills cheese grits + pole beans roasted tomatoes + andouille gravy~~~ SERIOUSLY to die for. The chicken is SOOO tender and the sides are so mouthwatering… *drool *
SOOO…after my amazing dinner experience there, I was excited to find out that they also served BRUNCH!! NATURALLY my friends and I had to check it out~~
We ordered a few things to share and seriously everything was delicious. Sadly I forgot the names of everything we ordered but I’ll do my best to describe it…
Spaghetti Squash Toast –this was aiite.
Blueberry Pancakes with sour cream and maple butter–tasted like heaven in your mouth. These pancakes totally changed my life. LOL sad to some…awesome to me. =D
fries–gotta have those
Gravlax – crispy poached egg, arugula, frisee, capers
–really fresh and tastey~ totally recommend this dish below. The breaded poached egg was clutch.
sadly i only have this blurry picture of our table. but the brunch was off-the-chain-delicious. i can’t wait to go back and try more menu items!!
