Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays of the year.  I feel like it kicks off 6 weeks of fun, family and FOOOOOOD.  Here are some heavenly recipes that I’ve been drooling over from!

Roasted Kobucha Squash with Brown Butter, Marshmallows, and Pecans

Brown Butter Mashed Potatoes

Stuffing with Sausage, Apples & Sage

Spiced Holiday Sangria

oh good ‘ol zippy’s.  I would have to say this is equivalent to a denny’s, coco’s or mimi’s cafe in California.  The food is solid, the service is fast and the ambiance is very “diner”.  BUT I have absolutely no complaints because I love their food.  The first few years I came to Hawaii everyone told me Zippy’s was a chain and it wasn’t worth going to… UH but I beg to differ.  I don’t think they realize how BOMB their Korean Fried Chicken, Chili and Portuguese sauce plates are!!  After discovering the food here, Zippy’s is a MUST HAVE stop on my annual food tour there.

If you’re in Hawaii~ you have to stop by.  Everything I’ve tried on the menu has been bomb and I just can’t get enough of the food! =) xo

Tamales Bay Oysters in San Francisco

tamales bay oysters

oh man...tamales bay is one place that i recently visited that is now one of my favorite places of all time.  basically the venue provides you with fresh muscles, oysters and clams.  You can reserve picnic tables (with bbq stands) and bring your own food and alchie (beer & wine only).  From there you basically spend the rest of the day chilling with friends, eating great food and pigging out on delicious seafood. =)  AND the area is gorgeous.  what’s not to love right?

a group of us went there for my bestie’s 30th birthday party and it was REALLY REALLY FUN.  i seriously want to go back every summer!

grilling oysters~~ yummm they came out a little chewy and didn’t have the sea/ocean taste oysters normally come with.  if you’re squeamish about oysters i would totally recommend grilling them!

Eveleigh in West Hollywood

A few months back I went to the most beautiful bridal shower at Eveleigh in West Hollywood.  Not only was the venue beautiful with a gorgeous scenic view of LA, but the food was out of this world.  I absolutely LOVED this place and can’t wait to go back.  If you’re looking for a brunch spot, bridal shower/baby shower space, or even to go on a romantic date~~ check this place out!!

Food Lately

Yummy food in my life lately ❤  a little kick back to bad things and some healthy eats~ as well as dinners/lunches with friends. =)

Kreation Kafe & Juicery

Went to Kreation Kafe during my winter break on Abbot Kinney.  I forgot how gorgeous this area is for brunch on the weekends!

Kreation Kafe is all organic and specializes in detox/healthy juices and smoothies.  I haven’t tried them, but the menu selection for it looked REALLY good.

The ambiance of the Kafe was outdoor rustic chic.  The floor was carpeted with fake grass, the tables were gorgeous wood planks, drinks came in mason jars, and the layout was open and airy.  The wait staff was incredibly nice and the entire place was super dog friendly (good for us!).

Coffee: Cafe Latte & Cafe Espresso: both were incredibly rich and frothy.  It was a total treat to get these cups.  Markel and I are used to always drinking pots of coffee, so we enjoyed this change.

Food: Eggs Benedict.  One with Salmon and one with Prosciutto.  LOVED the twist with the salmon, but didn’t love the bread that it came on.

Not sure I would order that dish again, but there were lots of things on the menu that I’d like to try.  I would totally recommend this brunch place to friends.  Not as the best place of all time, but for a great place to sit and relax on abbot kinney~~  The vibe is very “LA” with beautiful people, organic food and dogs at every table.  Oh and the food is fairly good. =)

We obviously got in trouble for putting Lucy on the table.  Markel’s friends were taking pictures of her in comparison to the cups. =P
